The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, established in 1816 on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people, is Australia's oldest botanic garden and scientific institution. Apart from being a favourite of Sydneysiders, it’s also a must-see destination for visitors, with its proximity to Sydney Harbour and the famous Opera House. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum stands on the lands of the Dakota (Sioux) people, on the outskirts of Minneapolis. It was founded in 1958 and attracts nearly 700,000 visitors a year.

Places like these are among the most precious resources we have in the 21st century, helping us all to learn up close about the power, variety and sheer ingenuity of the natural world.
